Plan Templates and Customer Contracts
Plan Templates
Plan templates are reusable commercial structures. Use them when the same pricing model should be assigned to more than one customer, such as basic, premium, and enterprise offerings.
A template can include fixed fees, usage-based fees, credits, discounts, billing settings, product modifications, and contract terms. After a template is created, it can be assigned to customers to generate customer contracts.
Each template can be assigned to multiple customers. Updating a template does not automatically rewrite existing customer contracts unless those contracts are revised or recreated according to the intended workflow.
Customer Contracts
Contracts hold the customer-specific commercial terms: products, services, prices, promotions, contract dates, billing behavior, and product-level settings.
Contracts can be created directly from the Plans & Pricing creation flow, by assigning a template to a customer, by selecting Assign and save as a contract from the plan editor, or through supported CRM and ERP integrations.
Contract Type
When creating a customer contract, choose the contract type that matches the commercial relationship.
Standard contracts are direct customer agreements.
Partnership / Reseller agreement contracts are used when the agreement is managed through a partner or reseller relationship.
Trial Period
If the commercial agreement includes a trial period, configure the relevant product start dates, pricing, discounts, or phases so billing begins according to the trial terms.
Example: A customer receives a 30-day trial before subscription billing begins. Set the subscription product's custom start date after the trial period, or create a phase that represents the trial period followed by the paid phase.
Assigning Templates
A plan template can be assigned to multiple customers. Each assignment creates a customer-specific contract with its own customer, start date, contract terms, and billing behavior.
For step-by-step assignment instructions, see Assign Plan to Customer.
